Circus in Oman

How exciting! Admittedly I am a big kid at heart, but I am looking forward to a little trip to the circus. I remember seeing the Moscow State Circus as a kid and how fun the whole thing was, so if this event is only half as fab it should still be good.

It is taking place in Qurum Park, Marah Land from September 30 to October 30. The English Sabla has the time listed as 7pm to 9pm, while tickets are priced from RO2 to RO5 for VIP tickets – not sure what that gets you though.

I won’t be going until next week, but if anyone else goes along before then, let me know how it is.

Have a nice weekend

Stationary Post

Anyone who knows me in “the real world” knows how much I love stationary; it is a very geeky addiction of mine that used to cost me a fortune in the UK. Luckily nice stationary isn’t so easy to come across here in Muscat – feel free to let me know if there are any nice places I have missed – and you get fed up of buying everything in Paperchase after a while.

I have been on the look out for something nice I can use to finally organise all those little scribbles and recipes that I have collected over the years. A friend suggested a cookbook from Paperchase but they were all a bit boring. But during a bored flick through Etsy, I found this by Cutthecakedesigns. I remember my grandma used to have one with her recipes in, so I thought why not bring the idea a bit more up to date.

It costs around RO25 including delivery, depends on the currency rate when you order but I think it is worth it. The file is supposed to be a funky alternative to a wedding guest book, but is perfect to be used as a recipe file. Come pay day at the end of the month, this will be one of the first things I order.
After the Eid holiday, I have also decided to get more organised and had a clear out of my diary. Got me thinking about next year and being old school will be ordering a paper diary, this one by sarahpinto is looking the likely candidate at the moment but this one and always the hopeful one this lucky diary is a possibility. It is around RO12 including delivery.

I stumbled across this shop a while ago and keep meaning to order something from it. Seen as the lovely owner (and blogger Tea For Joy) is having a competition at the moment to win £100 worth of stationary from Papermash, I thought I would share it with you ☺ go and have a peek.

Anyway, that is my frivolous “I want to spend money” post for today.

Eid mubarak

Eid mubarak to everyone!

Ramadan went without too much fuss and I managed to fast without complaining too much. Had some lovely Iftar suppers both at my place and at friends houses plus got to try some crazy dishes! Got my eid henna done with one of my closest Omani friends and her mum who were the sweetest and even baked me little treats throughout eid. Things are very busy and I have another meal to prepare but will post something longer next week. How are you all spending eid?

Until then I hope you all enjoy this holiday and let the rumours on how long next eid will last begin. I think 2 weeks, but I am always hopeful ;)
